Last Fall, there were four swimmers staging an assault on the record books. Camille was attacking one flank with the 8&under girls standings, placing on 7 of the 10 possible events. While Hannah and Michael continued to cement their names into top 5s from all age groups. Jordan, having joined the team as she was turning 11, made her mark on both the short course and long course lists, even swimming a PRT as she qualified for Far Westerns.
This winter there is one. Gabe is dropping time in everything, placing himself in the top 5 in five different events. And he has almost three more months until he turns 9! If you want to know when Gabe swam what event in what time, you don't need to look at swim connection. Just ask him. Or stand near Bill and wait for Gabe to walk up and discuss these times.
As you can tell from the picture, Gabe is skinny. Or as some would say, streamlined. One of the things I've noticed though is that Gabe isn't just a swimmer, he's a racer. And there is a difference. Put a kid in front of him and he swims faster. Put a kid behind him and he swims faster. That's why I'm confident that he's not stopping at five top 5 times, he's going to get all ten.
